Many people believe that the literary devices only appear in English or history related courses or from the mouth of writers in middle ages, but actually the use of literary devices are fairly modern and common. If you ever heard a rap song most likely you have heard many sentences with literary devices in it, because rhyme is part of literary device. In out everyday life literary devices are used frequently without us knowing and here is a video that explains some of the literary devices that are appearing in our media.
